The Mission Team is recruiting a Doers of the Word crew to assist people in our church who have a relatively simple job at their home they need help with. No particular skills required! If you would like to volunteer to be part of this new ministry, please add your name to the sign-up sheet outside Fellowship Hall.

Thank You for Helping the “Least of These”!
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful congregation for your tremendous support of the mission work of our church throughout 2023. We have seen the hand of God at work through your amazing generosity of time, talents, and treasure. Your support, kindness, and love have helped countless people in need in our community and beyond. Together, we are making a difference as we serve and honor Jesus through our
Matthew 25 Ministry. Watch for the 2023 Mission/Outreach giving summary for more detail about the many organizations we supported this past year. These organizations are extremely grateful for the support our church so generously provides as we partner to bring God’s love and caring to people in need.
New Prayer Partnering Opportunity Begins
- Does God ever seem far away?
- Do you find yourself wondering why God allows certain things to happen?
- Is your prayer life feeling flat or empty?
If you would like to have someone to be a prayer partner with you or to talk openly with about your relationship with God, I will be available, beginning August 1 to meet with you. I’ve now finished my Seminary Coursework for my Post-Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction from St John’s . I was accepted into the Practicum stage this summer. This means I am ready to begin offering Spiritual Direction on August 1. I’m excited to begin!
In this part of the training, I will meet individually with people for spiritual companioning, with monthly oversight and mentoring of my work from an experienced prayer companion as I go along. I can meet
regularly with people, or just once, or anything in between.
If you’re not sure if this is right for you or not sure what you need, no problem! That’s part of the process. Just send an email to svarley@comcast.net or give me a call. We’ll find a time to sit down together and talk, and
then go from there.
There is no cost for this, and I am not paid for the Spiritual Direction work. Thrive Ministry will welcome donations to support its outreach if you want to contribute.

Minister Candidate
Pastoral Candidate Visit: June 4 The Leadership Transition Team (LTT) has invited a pastoral candidate to Greeley for the weekend of Friday, June 2 through Monday, June 5, 2023. This will be a chance for FCC to decide whether to issue a call to the candidate and for the candidate to decide if they are interested in answering our call.
At the worship service on Sunday June 4, the candidate will be introduced and will preach. After the service, you will have a chance to meet them personally at a congregational potluck. After the potluck, the candidate will meet with the Board, Elders, Trustees, and Cabinet at a meet-and-greet session.
The FCC Board will hold a special meeting on June 7 to discuss a recommendation to the congregation for “a call for the pastor candidate,” and a congregational meeting after church on June 11 for a vote “to issue a
call for the pastor candidate,” both contingent on a positive response to the June 2-5 visit.

Fall Kickoff – September 4
Dear Friends— We are kicking off our Fall season with an exciting Sunday on September 4th. We are blessed to share our space with two other worshiping congregations, the Iglesia Mision Evangelica and the Micronesian Christian Church of Greeley. On September 4th at 10:00 am, we will gather outside under our tents for worship with all three congregations sharing in word and music. This will be followed by “whiz bang all churches potluck”!!!
Love, Mark
