Join Our Ministry Team

We invite you to join our ministry team to help extend the hands and feet of Jesus to our community. We are in need of a variety of talents and skills and invite you to join us where you have passion. Some specific areas where we would welcome your talent and skills are in the Fellowship Team, Property Team, Diaconate/Greeters, Elders. Contact the church if you are interested in joining our mission.

Coat Drive now through Monday, November 11

Help students and families experiencing homelessness! Bring new or gently used coats for Middle to High School aged students, as well as their siblings and parents. The Coat Drive is for the District 6 Family Center. Their building was flooded this Spring eliminating storage. First Christian is proud to step up to help! Volunteers will be needed on November 12-14 for sorting and distribution.

Immigrant Center Outreach – August 26th

Have a ‘signature’ treat you could share with a special group of workers? Join us to take treats to staff at the Immigrant Center. We asked their group’s management team what would be helpful to their efforts. With tight resources, complicated issues, a sea of people to help (not to mention political storms) they suggested nurturing their staff.
Viola! We pop in with 20-30 breaktime goodies and a warm smile to say “thank you” for staff’s challenging
work. The interaction builds understanding/friendships as well as a glimpse into their important work –
Win / Win! Contact Diana or Tammy to participate.

New Doers of the Word Crew!

The Mission Team is recruiting a Doers of the Word crew to assist people in our church who have a relatively simple job at their home they need help with. No particular skills required! If you would like to volunteer to be part of this new ministry, please add your name to the sign-up sheet outside Fellowship Hall.

Week of Compassion

Please consider giving to the Week of Compassion special offering. Week of Compassion is the hands and feet of Jesus in times of crisis throughout the world. You can contribute by check during Sunday offering (please put WOC in the memo line) or online at www.fccgreeley.com (please note WOC in the comments).

Blanket Sunday – January 21

When disasters strike, when temperatures drop, when sidewalks become home, Church World Service wants to be there with a blanket to provide warmth. We will be collecting an offering for Blanket Sunday on January 21. Your donation of $10 will warm the heart and hands of someone in need near and far.

King Soopers Community Rewards Sign-up – January 21 & 28

If you shop at King Soopers and have not linked your Shopper’s Card to First Christian Church, let us help you set up the link! Once linked, every time you shop at King Soopers and swipe your card or enter your alternate ID, a percentage of the sale will go to our church’s Right Here, Right Now Fund. Members of the Mission Team will be available during Fellowship Time on January 21 & 28 to help you sign up. This is a simple, no-cost way to give to our church!

Habitat Cookie Walk

Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity will hold their annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Zoe’s Café (715 10th St.). They need cookie bakers and cookie buyers! We pledged 15 dozen cookies from our church. If you would like to donate homemade Christmas cookies, please bring the cookies to the FCC kitchen by Thursday, Dec. 14. See you at the Cookie Walk!

Marines Toys for Tots

FCC will once again be partnering with the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program to bring Christmas cheer to children throughout Weld County. Toys for Tots collaborates with over 40 agencies, non-profits, and faith organizations to collect and distribute new unwrapped Christmas gifts to children and youth ages 2-18. There is a special need for gifts for teens, such as earbuds, makeup, board games, books, art supplies, Lego sets, small electronics, or sporting equipment (basketball, soccer ball, or football). Look for the Toys for Tots toy box in the narthex. Toys must be at the church by Thursday, Dec. 14.

Bundle Up Tree

’Tis the season to decorate a tree in the narthex with the gift of warmth for children in our community. Gloves (preferably insulated), hats, scarves, and socks are needed. Items will be delivered to the School District 6 Family Center to be distributed among all the Greeley-Evans schools.
