A Time of Remembrance and Thanksgiving
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”
Psalm 33:12
November is the month in America that should be filled in reflection and remembrance with solemn pride for the heroism of our country’s service men and women. Let us be grateful “for the things which we have been freed from and for the opportunities given us in peace and justice.” (Woodrow Wilson).
For this month, ALL are invited to remember those who have served and are serving in the United States Armed Forces. Come and view “Taking Chance,” a feature story of one fallen soldier and another soldier who brings him home. This Sundance film tells a remarkable true story of their journey, starring Kevin Bacon, in this emotional docudrama rated PG.
On Friday, November 8th, a light supper will be served at 6:00 p.m. in FCC’s Fellowship Hall, with the film starting at 6:30. Sign up on the church bulletin board.
Share in this season of thanksgiving with First Christian Church for the glory Jesus Christ has offered us in His blessings.
