Join the FCC Thrive Ministry on Saturday, September 28 at 10am as we explore how to help those we know and love who deal with anxiety and depression. Learn suggestions and strategies for supporting them. Afterwards, connect with others with an “out to lunch” bunch at Albertos (please let the church know if you plan to go to lunch for planning purposes).

Join us on October 26 for “Helping People With….Grief” followed by Out to Lunch Bunch and on November 30 for “Helping People With…Connection” followed by Out to Lunch Bunch.

Thrive Ministry

We are blessed to have Thrive Ministry in the FCC Community. The Thrive Ministry has:

  • Provided 5 families with scholarships for mental health services.
  • Provided 13 families with referrals to providers in the community.
  • Facilitated classes, workshops, and sessions for the congregation and community.

Join the Thrive Ministry for the Wednesday Night Thrive dinners on Wednesdays at 5:30 in June focusing on healthy body, movement, mind, and spirit.

 

Wednesday Night Thrive!

In response to the Thrive survey, a Wednesday night series on Healthy Body, Movement, Mind, and Spirit will take place every Wednesday night in June! A meal will be provided at 5:30 pm with a presentation at 6:00.
A free-will donation will be collected at dinner. All contributions will be given to the Weld County Food Bank to
support the food insecure in our community.

 

Mental Health First Aid Course for Faith Communities

Living Water Soul Care and North Range Behavioral Health have partnered to bring a free one-day Mental Health First Aid Course to Faith Communities, 9 am – 4:30 pm on Friday, March 22 at Caring Legacy Building, 2105 Clubhouse Drive in Greeley. Thrive Prayer Group Book Study

The Thrive Prayer Group meets Thursdays at 4:00 pm for sharing, reflection, and prayer. This Thursday, Sept 21, the group begins a deep dive into Philip Yancy’s book Prayer. Dr. Sandy Varley will facilitate discussion; you do not need to read the book to attend the sessions. Everyone is welcome in the group. Call the office or talk with Sandy if you have questions.

 

Q is for Questioning Workshops

Co-hosted by Envision One and PFLAG Greeley. This is a three-week series for parents, guardians, teachers, or others who work with LGBTQ youth. There are three 2-hour workshops September 14, 21, and 28, 6:00-8:00 pm. The first two sessions are online. The final session is a hybrid workshop offered both online and in person. Thrive Prayer Circle Starts This Week

Thursday, February 16 at 4:00 pm is the first “Encountering God” prayer group, a spiritual development series that will focus on mindfulness, meditation, and prayer as paths to joy and greater connection to God. Everyone is invited. No sign-up is required, and you can attend any week or every week as you would like. Please join Pastor Judi and Sandy Varley Thursdays at 4:00 pm in the prayer room starting this week.

Thrive Prayer Circle

Thrive invites you to a weekly prayer circle with Dr. Sandy Varley and Pastor Judi Ring, Thursdays at 4:00pm beginning February 16. These “Encountering Gods” sessions will focus on prayer, meditation, and mindfulness as ways to strengthen our connection to the divine. Everyone is welcome in the circle any time; no registration is required.
