Have a ‘signature’ treat you could share with a special group of workers? Join us to take treats to staff at the Immigrant Center. We asked their group’s management team what would be helpful to their efforts. With tight resources, complicated issues, a sea of people to help (not to mention political storms) they suggested nurturing their staff.
Viola! We pop in with 20-30 breaktime goodies and a warm smile to say “thank you” for staff’s challenging
work. The interaction builds understanding/friendships as well as a glimpse into their important work –
Win / Win! Contact Diana or Tammy to participate.
Back to School Drive – July 16-August 6
There is still time to help students in District 6 have the supplies they need to get their new school year off to a great start. Our annual school supply drive will culminate on Sunday, August 6. We are collecting school supplies for our partner school, the Fred Tjardes School of Innovation, as well as the Family Center at School District 6.
The Fred Tjardes School appreciates art supplies in particular such as 24-count crayons, 12-count colored pencils, 8-count markers, glue sticks, watercolor paint boxes, and construction paper. The Teachers’ Closet provides supplies to classrooms and students across the school district and especially needs #2 wooden pencils, pens, spiral notebooks (wide and college-ruled), sharpies, glue, dry-erase markers, pocket folders, rulers, and scissors. Backpacks are also requested.
Please place your donated items in any of the school-bus boxes located around the church.
World Refugee Day – June 20
The Mission Team is excited to share that they are partnering in ministry with the Immigrant and Refugee Center of Northern Colorado (ircnoco.org). This organization’s volunteers need encouragement, and Mission is stepping in to provide treats and inspiration the last Monday of each month. The director shared that this “we see and appreciate you” has overwhelmed staff and volunteers and is building trust and future bridges. Join on Monday 6/24 to help deliver, accept smiles, and see the Center’s amazing operations.

Teacher Appreciation Week – May 6-10
Talk to Verna Recor if you would like to help us show appreciation to the staff at our partner school, the

Please join us on Saturday June 3, 2023 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm for a conversation about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), led by Dr. Teresa Cribelli. This workshop is not a training, rather it is a chance to ask questions and think about what it would look like for our church to be more inclusive of all God’s children. Topics will include race, gender identity, LGBT+ communities, and more. Dr. Cribelli leads DEI workshops for businesses and has extensive experience on these topics. If you just want to learn more, this is the place for you! Please sign up on the board in the church hall or call the office to register by June 1. A light lunch will be served. There is no charge, but free will offerings will be accepted.
